Sweet & Sour Meatballs (TNT)

TNT from Ginny (Lisa’s note—I have had these too and agree they’re good.  I have had them using the frozen Italian meatballs Rosina’s brand cook them as directed and follow rest of recipe)

Make meatballs according to your favorite recipe and procedure.   (I use 2 lb ground beef, 2 eggs,  bread crumbs,  package of Onion Soup mix.  I bake the meatballs at 350 degrees for about 30 min on a pan with a rack so the grease drips away, or you can brown in a fry pan if preferred).

1 bottle chili sauce
1 (8 oz.) jar grape jelly

In a large covered pan, pour in the chili sauce and grape jelly.  Stir and heat on medium until the jelly is melted and blended.  Turn down to low,  add the cooked meatballs and simmer until heated through.  Can also do in a crockpot.

The meatballs and sauce are great to start with but get better the next day!

I made these over the holidays and the sauce is terrific…  you would never guess it is just chili sauce and grape jelly!!!  These were a big hit!      Ginny
